2027 NHL Trade Deadline Predictions

The trade deadline is always one of the most exciting times of the year as a hockey fan. As a Canadian, both TSN and Sportsnet put on their big deadline day show and it is always fun to follow along. These are my NHL trade deadline predictions. This includes some guesses on which players who I think could get dealt and where they could go to. I will be updating this as the year goes on and the standings become more clear.

Gunner’s NHL Trade Deadline Predictions

Jordan Binnington Will Get Traded To The Edmonton Oilers

It is pretty clear that the Edmonton Oilers need a goalie. I think that they will try to address it in the offseason but it will likely be hard to do so.

Instead, I will guess they try and pick up Binnington if the Blues struggle again this season and don’t make the playoffs.

Edmonton needs goaltending help and he could be the guy to steal them some games in the playoffs.

On a related note, make sure to check out my Stanley Cup predictions.

Prediction: Jordan Binnington from the St. Louis Blues to the Edmonton Oilers

Jared McCann Will Get Traded To The Pittsburgh Penguins

I don’t see the Seattle Kraken being a good team next year. If that is the case, Jared McCann is a name to watch out for as he is a UFA after the season.

I will guess that he goes to Pittsburgh, the team he used to play for. The Penguins are in win-now mode with Crosby retiring soon, so I think this could make sense.

Prediction:Jared McCann goes from the Seattle Kraken to the Pittsburgh Penguins

Blake Coleman Will Go Back To The Tampa Bay Lightning

Calgary will likely miss the playoffs, so their UFA’s will be names to watch out for at the deadline. Blake Coleman is one who immediately popped into my mind when I took a look at some of the names.

I think he goes back to the Tampa Bay Lightning where he had a lot of success.

Prediction:Blake Coleman goes from the Calgary Flames to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
